faculty development

We help faculty turn research questions into structured methodologies, computational workflows, and practical research outcomes. Through eight weeks of live-online learning, participants strengthen their research capabilities across engineering, computing, applied sciences, and interdisciplinary domains.

Applied Research & Computational Methods for Faculty to Support Master’s & PhD Research, Simulation, and Research Paper Publication

◇ WHY RESEARCH CAPABILITY MATTERS

Meaningful research requires more than subject knowledge.

Faculty members are expected to teach, investigate emerging problems, guide student projects, and contribute to academic research. Yet moving from an interesting question to a defensible methodology, reproducible analysis, and practical outcome requires a structured approach.

Research gaps, methodological uncertainty, limited computational experience, and fragmented workflows can slow that process. Developing these capabilities helps faculty approach research problems with greater clarity, technical confidence, and rigour.

The questions we are addressing

The objective: strengthen practical research capability through structured learning, guided project development, and evidence-based methods. That breaks down into four questions.

Q1

How do we identify meaningful research gaps and formulate clear research questions?

Q2

How do we select appropriate methodologies for different research problems?

Q3

How can computational tools, data analysis, and AI support rigorous research?

Q4

How do we translate research ideas into reproducible projects and defensible outcomes?

Why it is hard

Research combines problem formulation, literature analysis, methodology selection, technical implementation, validation, and communication. These stages require different skills, and weaknesses in one stage can affect the reliability of the entire study.

01

Identifying a genuine research gap

02

Selecting suitable research methods

03

Working with data and computational tools

04

Validating results and ensuring reproducibility

05

Communicating findings with technical clarity

◇ METHODOLOGY

Built through guided learning and applied research.

We combine live-online instruction with structured assignments, research resources, and project reviews. Participants apply the methods to a research question relevant to their own discipline, progressing from initial problem formulation toward a defined research deliverable.
This structured approach helps faculty establish a strong foundation for their research workflow, from defining research problems and selecting appropriate methodologies to developing and validating research outcomes. It also supports the preparation of technically sound, well-structured research work as a foundation for future research paper publication.

What we develop

Clear research questions and measurable objectives
Literature reviews and research-gap analysis
Appropriate methodologies and project plans
Practical data, computational, or analytical workflows
Validation, documentation, and reproducible practices
A final research proposal, analysis, or small proof of concept

Why it matters

Stronger research methodology and technical capability
More structured and reproducible research workflows
Practical development of faculty-led research projects
Better preparation for future research collaborations
Three free student internship opportunities per paid faculty enrolment, subject to published programme terms

Develop your research capability.

The eight-week Faculty Development Programme welcomes faculty members and academic researchers interested in research methodology, computational methods, data analysis, AI-assisted research, and interdisciplinary project development.

Duration: 8 weeks · Live online

Sessions can be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, offering flexibility to accommodate faculty members’ academic and professional commitments.

Programme fee: ₹10,000 per faculty member

The programme is particularly suited for faculty members pursuing or undertaking Master’s or PhD studies, as well as those seeking technical support in simulation, research methodology, and applied research to develop their work towards research paper publication. It is designed to strengthen research capabilities through structured learning, computational methods, and guided project development.

The fee may be paid by the faculty member or their institution. Each paid faculty enrolment includes eligibility for three free student internship places from the participant's institution, subject to the published internship eligibility and selection terms.

Faculty members interested in the programme may contact us at fdp@simulationlab.in for further information and enrolment enquiries.
